The implementation and further enhancement of the graph drawing system
GraVis
is an ongoing project. You will find the most recent version at
ftp.informatik.uni-tuebingen.de(internet-link: "ftp://ftp.informatik.uni-tuebingen.de/pub/gravis")
. Please visit this site often, since we
are continuously adding new features and bugfixes to
GraVis
. The
purpose of this page is to give you an idea what to expect in the near
future.
Please note that just like the feature list
which contains only part of the already available functionality, the following
lists enumerate only the most important planned improvements. If we see that
something is missing, we will add it. However, if
you
find that
something is missing, tell us
about it
(or contact Harald Lauer(lauer@informatik.uni-tuebingen.de)
directly).
New Features
We are planning to add several major functionality improvements, in fact
some of them are currently being implemented. The items of the following
list will be part of one of the next releases of
GraVis
-
Interactive three-dimensional graph visualization.
-
Script language for rapid prototyping of graph algorithms.
-
Interface to the LEDA library.
-
Incremental orthogonal graph layout module.
-
Several additional layout modules.
-
Active extension modules monitoring the user interface.
-
Documentation and Manual.
-
Ports to new platforms and
Eiffel
compilers.
Enhancements
This section lists the minor, but also important improvements you will find
in one of the next releases of
GraVis
.
Minor
means that there
will not be a major block of new functionality, instead exisiting features
are enhanced and/or corrected.
-
Performance improvements of the communication interface.
-
Representation of existing functions at the graphical user interface.
-
Text window for status messages and algorithm output.
-
Additional node and edge types.
-
Customization of
GraVis
via the user interface.
-
Graph merging.
